I have a site that I go to regularly and it has worked fine. Today it is telling me:

Code: Select all

1) Your hosting account has been temporarily disabled.

or

2) There is a technical problem with your domain.
I really thought there was something wrong with the site but in Windows XP it loads fine. I am behind a router so I don't think it is an ip issue. But I don't understand how this could be.

In Gentoo (using Firefox) I get the error but in Windows XP (diff pc on my lan, using Firefox) it is fine.

Thx

--Edit--
I am just typing in the base url relying on the fact that there is an index.php file that get loaded by default. For some reason today it is not loading this file by default because if I type in <URL>/index.php it works. I don't know what has changed recently that could have caused this.

if you're comfortable with posting the URL it would help.

i really doubt there's anything wrong with your computer if you're getting that message, despite the fact that it works in WinXP. maybe it's just cached on your WinXP installation?

your webhost needs to add index.php to the default documents, which varies according to the webserver you have

Thanks everyone.

I tried clearing my cache and refreshing but it didn't work.

Today it is working.

After thinking about it some more that is what I thought but I don't understand why it worked on Firefox on Windows but not Gentoo. I sent an email to the web hosting company. Maybe they fixed something. Either way it works now.

Thx
