Keyboard problems...

  • Quote

Post by SB » Tue Apr 20, 2004 3:46 pm

Hi...

I've just lobbed Gentoo on my Toshiba Satellite, and I'm having a small problem. Completely randomly (as far as I can tell at them moment) my keyboard stops responding to input.

Originally (before X was loaded) I thought it was the PC hanging, but not X is on, I can still move the mouse, interact with windows and so forth.

The hardware itself works fine under XP :(

Any suggestions?

Kernel - development-sources 2.6.6-rc1

OK, small update - I've been mostly emerging since installation - I ran for a while earlier with emerging. Then I started an emerge and carried on with what I was doing and about 2 minutes in, the keyboard stops again. Nothing occured in the Xorg log or the syslog either :(

I've seen the same thing with the latest love-sources, but only once.

I had similar problem. My mouse is an USB mouse and the keyboard is USB / PS/2. Keyboard was attached to PS/2 port. I've attached it to an USB port and everything seems to be fine (but I can't say I've tested it for long...).

I am having the exact same problem on my Satellite laptop as well. I'm currently running the 2.6.5 gentoo-dev-sources.
