Have you updated your copy of portage lately?

Is that ebuild the only one causing you problems? What happens if you delete it and rerun "emerge sync"?

I'm getting the same error when trying to run 'eupdatedb'.
Ignorance should be painful.

I had the same problem and went into my world file, looked at the last thing shown in emerge -uDdp world (which was logjam in my case, licq-themes in yours) and then figured the thing under it was the cause. It turns out netwatch is causing it in my case. The ebuild name is netwatch-1.0b_pre3.ebuild and apparently portage doesn't like the .0b. I removed it and everything is fine. Not sure why this is happening.
