What kernel are you running, if you are running a 2.4.* kernel you need to append hdc=ide-scsi replacing hdc with your burners device.

I can recommend to use 2.6.x kernel. No ide-scsi emulation and burn via ATAPI. It is more clear solution and I think that K3b will run without any problems.

Yea, don't even bother with 2.4 really. 2.6 is here and stable and tons easier and better, and more awesomer.. and so much goooooder. It really is.

What happens when you try to mount the device via the command line? What errors do you get? [re: can't even read the cd]

And you can also post relevant part of kernel config.

you must use

Code: Select all

 mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdroms/cdrom1
And you also must have support of iso9660 compiled into kernel.
