I think XChat is the master of all IRC Clients; just tweak the text events and mmmm.... IRC heaven!

XChat is the only one for Linux that I have used.

What are text events and how do you tweak them and what are you tweaking them to?

Thx

Settings -> Lists -> Text Events
Go in there and set it up to how you like it to look! Mine looks like this: (+nick) for voice (@nick) for op, etc. and the (,)'s are red. :P

I like XChat, but I wish it was a real GNOME2 application, like it should react correctly to urls (use the default web browser), and so on.

But other than that, it's a wonderful app.

xchat!

I used to use irssi, but I find xchat's ease of use very nice.

<plug> I made a perpetually unreleased kde frontend for xchat too; http://halted.net/vertigo1.png

I like x-chat. It's simple and straight forward. Plus I can't live without the transparency.

I used kvirc which integrates nicely into KDE. I switched to x-chat after I found out about an xqf-xchat2 plugin :-)

mondauge

BTW: is there a way in x-chat to make doubleclicking on a name open up a query?

Using irssi + screen on it, very handy indeed, atleast your session does not die if I manage to crash my pekwm-cvs on the ocation.
