mondo mktemp: cannot make temp file ambiguous redirect

Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

mondo mktemp: cannot make temp file ambiguous redirect

I keep getting this error when running mondoarchive. Anyone know what it might be? Whether its a gentoo ebuild problem or a general mindi problem? It looks like a general problem trying to reference //tmp (should it just be / instead of //) but I have no idea where I would change this.

Here is more detail from the log:

Your boot loader is GRUB and it boots from /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc
//tmp.mondo.18234
Calculating size of all biggiefiles (in total)
biggielist = //tmp.mondo.18234/biggielist.txt
Reading it...
Closing...
Finished calculating total size of all biggiefiles
mindi --custom //tmp.mondo.18234 //mondo.scratch.28130/images "FAILSAFE" "" "" 210997 "no" no "" yes 120 7 "" yes no
Executing mindi --custom //tmp.mondo.18234 //mondo.scratch.28130/images "FAILSAFE" "" "" 210997 "no" no "" yes 120 7 "" yes no
You are using Mindi-Linux v0.86 to make boot+data disks
I shall include Mindi's failsafe kernel, not your kernel, in the boot disks.
However, you are still running your kernel. If Mindi fails to create your
disks then it may still be a result of a problem with your kernel.

The error comes because, for whatever reason, the fcn the error occurs in tries to write to $TMP_ROOT/mindilinux before the directory has been created. I added the following in at line 704:

Code: Select all

mkdir $TMP_ROOT/mindilinux
and everything looks fine now. I'll post a bug.

I discovered from the mindi/mondo bugzilla that this is a bug in mindi .86 and it is fixed in .87. Don't think there is an ebuild of .87 yet though.

Weird, cause the gentoo bug is closed stating that Mindi 1.03 is in portage, yet it's not...

I tried the fix posted here on line 704 (looked like the right place) still no luck..
