Cant fetch repositories.xml [SOLVED]

I wanted to list repostiroeis using eselect repository, but it started fecthing repositories.xml for infinity from api.gentoo.org. I searched for mirrors and didnt find any that had overlays in them though.
maybe rsync ones had the overlays folder but i dont know how to open.
so the error is like that:

i looked into eselect repository configuration file and i know that i can change mirror, but i dont have a clue is there even a mirror for gentoo.api? i only know that there are packages mirrors and rsync mirrors, but like i tried to change them in /etc/portage/repos.conf for [gentoo] and nothing had changed. So i need to understand what i can do to retrieve that repositories.xml file...

okay i just grubbed repositories.xml from github repo of gentoo. if was simple enough

I should just change topic name to [SOLVED] then? im just new on this forum

EDIT: nevermind, when i tried to create my own repo i got this behavior again, and i would be fine if it was somehow fixable, so i need a way to make eselect repo fetch that repositories.xml somehow.

okay, i fixed a problem. I used raw link from github, so when wget tries to get the repositories.xml it fetched it from github repo. idk how good that solutoin is, but i get repository list somehow, so i guess its fine.
