To eliminate the possibility that this a a configuration issue or conflict with old configuration and updates, remove (or rename) the file ~/.config/systemmonitorrc . Try to launch the command again. What is the result?

If that fails, to further eliminate that this is a theming issue or configuration issue, please try to launch the command with a new user.

You could trying launching specific pages to observe the behavior or to see if the terminal offers any additional output:

[EDIT]:FWIW std::vector::_M_default_append creates new default objects and puts them at the end of the vector. I am not sure if this
is an effect of drawing the application window on the screen (theming or drawing error) or creating the actual monitor modules within the application (an error with the application itself). I am not a programmer and do not understand vector resizing. I only throw this out there in case someone else here reads this and understands the significance of the error and has any insight as to what context this warning is referring to or what might be causing this type of error to occur.

You seem confidant that it is not related to bad RAM or lack of available memory or other hardware issue so maybe valgrind might be useful in this case? I am not an expert in this area. Maybe one will chime in eventually. If I was left to my own devices without further direction in this situation, I would try rebuilding the affected program(s). to see if this fixed the issue. I once began having a fatal error when running either konsole or kate after an update. After rebuilding just that package I was able to launch it normally again . I guessed maybe the first time it was a rare and random build error. Under the best of conditions with perfectly working memory and hardware, do CPU's and/or compilers make mistakes? Produce bad programs occasionally? Linking errors? Or is it a perfect system? I don't know.

I would definitely consider filing a bug report with the upstream developers in some cases.

I might consider using valgrind. Someone else may have actual experience in this area and be able to offer more meaningful advice.

If all else fails, as a drastic desperate measure I might even consider in my down time or overnight rebuilding my system as one does with a profile update (i.e. in order emerge binutils, gcc, glibc libtool, rebuild world and all that those steps entail etc.), especially if I was experiencing errors with multiple programs.

This is C++ code throwing an exception that is not caught by any exception handler in the program. Which results in a call to std::terminate().

std::length_error is a class defined in the C++ standard library and generally used as the type of exception objects thrown when a data structure is asked to grow larger than an allowed maximum. In this case, seemingly thrown by an (instanced) member function of class template std::vector<> (libstdc++'s implementation).

Probably a bug in plasma-systemmonitor or the result of some unusual condition (since nobody else seems to have reported something like this). Unlikely the result of hardware failures. Diagnosing this might unfortunately require GDB or something like that.
