[SOLVED] Ninja error after time synchronize

  • Quote

Post by PoisonDuke » Sun Dec 14, 2025 8:23 am

I encountered an error while compiling glslang using chronyd-q to synchronize time: ninja: error: manifest 'build.ninja' still dirty after 100 tries, perhaps system time is not set
How to solve it? I can't install the software now

Code: Select all

ninja: error: manifest 'build.ninja' still dirty after 100 tries, perhaps system time is not set

Thanks!

There is the emerge --info out:

OP has set the thread title to include [SOLVED], but I do not see an obvious solution described here. What was the solution? Was the error message correct, and the system's clock was sufficiently wrong that correcting the time fixed the build? If not, what was required to solve this?

Sorry administrator, after posting this post and responding to Banana's reply, the issue was automatically resolved after about 20 minutes, and I don't know the specific steps

By the way, I noticed a time offset of 30000 seconds, and I enabled the chronyd service using systemctl enable -- now chronyd. I'm not sure if this is the reason

Highly likely. Build systems like ninja depend heavily on file timestamps to determine if something needs building. If the clock jumps by a large amount in the middle of operation, they're bound to get confused.
Is there gas in the caaaaar?
Yes, there's gas in the caaaar
