thinkpad p16 nvidia module problem

I get the following dmesg output when trying to modprobe the nvidia driver:

I am using the blackwell architecture (RTX 5000 workstation board) under kernel 6.12.58

Appears to be fixed with kernel 6.17.8 - not sure why the drivers wouldn't be compatible with earlier kernels, but it loads now...
