>dev-lang/rust:1.84.1: [nightly] gone

This forum covers all Gentoo-related software not officially supported by Gentoo. Ebuilds/software posted here might harm the health and stability of your system(s), and are not supported by Gentoo developers. Bugs/errors caused by ebuilds from overlays.gentoo.org are covered by this forum, too.

That causes [miri] disappearance.

Plz note only dev-lang.rust-9999 keeps [nightly][miri]. [EDITED]

Finding this situation rather uncomfortable, as I'm currently starting rust writing here.
Maybe I'm mistaking something.

Thks 4 ur attention, interest & support.

Hm. quse shows those flags (quse -v miri nightly).

So...

Code: Select all

# Georgy Yakovlev <gyakovlev@gentoo.org> (2022-07-03)
# miri is known to be broken on release builds from time to time
# most of the time it requires nightly (real nightly) compiler.
# please unmask as needed, may require patching
>=dev-lang/rust-1.62.0 miri

Code: Select all

# Georgy Yakovlev <gyakovlev@gentoo.org> (2019-12-21)
# For bleeding edge features and testing, not generally suitable
# for stable systems
dev-lang/rust nightly
So USE=nightly is for ~* only.
USE=miri seems to be somewhat broken. Unmask at your own risk.

Looks like your only option is to use the live version. :|
And it seems that miri requires that too.
