Original account has disappeared

I had to create a new account with the same name, luckily it let me, but my original account is gone. I don't think I really ever posted much, maybe like once about asio or wineasio or something. I just figured I would leave a note here. Thanks. Gentoo has been a lifesaver and reliable for my uses.

Although accounts can be deleted, this is exceedingly rare. We don't generally delete even spam accounts, much less legitimate ones with posts. We may rename an account at the direct request of its current user, but I cannot recall any cases of renaming an inactive account. (We have had cases where someone asked us to rename a long-unused account, to free up a desirable name for a recent user. I cannot recall such a request ever being granted.)

Can you find the original post made by your earlier account, so that we can inspect what happened?

GannoK,

We have an 'unused account' reaper, that runs every now and again to remove older accounts with zero posts.
If you made account, then didn't use it at all, it would have been automatically deleted.
That would let you reuse the same account name too.

Deleting used accounts does not happen, even only used by spammers, as it make a big mess of the database.
Regards,
