Gentoo Dual boot with windows 10?

Hello everyone,

I've came here to inquire if gentoo plays well with dual booting with windows 10. Is it okay for it to share the same efi partition that windows 10 was preinstalled with? Now I have already have a linux distro already installed but plan to override it with gentoo instead i assume it will delete the grub with the distro. So i know that i will probably have to make a new grub as well or does the grub of the old distro somehow stay if the partiton space is formatted? Lastly, does gentoo also play okay with secure boot enabled? As its enabled on my computer but don't have any issues booting into live cds. Anyways, any response is appreciated. Have a nice day everyone.
Technology sure is something isn't it?

Plz first install Linux.
Then create an ntfs partition in your main disk(not external) run Win installer and allocate this to Windows during installation.
Windows will create a file called Microsoft in your existing esp.
Then use efibootmgr to set boot order.
It is very easy, not to worry about.
:)

in my case, I have pre-installed Windows10 with separate partition for boot files (EFI). My solution is to use grub to generate boot file and move the boot files directly to the same boot partition as Windows 10. Then in my BIOS, both Gentoo and Windows 10 boot are recognized. When you boot you computer, it will enter to the default system (Gentoo or Win). in my case, it is possible to set the default system in BIOS configuration. If you want to enter the other system, press F10 to choose the system you want to boot.

Gentoo can dual booting with windows 10.

Gentoo can share the efi system partition (esp) created by windows.

Grub installed in esp for an OS is left behind even if the OS is removed. Just choose the one to boot with efibootmgr.

I never tried secure boot with Gentoo, but there's a guide: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/User:Sakak ... ecure_Boot
