There are 2 GPUs on the motherboard, each with an HDMI cable coming out of it.
The 2 HDMI cables go into a cheap HDMI switcher which switches a single output HDMI with a single button press to avoid having to use the crappy monitor menu which takes ages and involves pressing many more buttons.
My WM is sway. If I lock the screen, and then switch, chromium is fine underneath.
If I don't lock the screen, and switch away from the guest - chromium crashes with a log like below.
I also tried connecting the guest GPU directly with a single cable - just pulling it out of the GPU has the same effect of causing chromium to crash. Hopefully this is decent proof that the issue is not my switcher, but with chromium.
I have very similar behaviour on the host with cmus (https://github.com/cmus/cmus/issues/1000) - I suspect that the disappearing HDMI audio source may be to blame.
Any ideas for how to fix or work around this?
Any ideas how to disable HDMI audio outright? I've never used it.
