Fallen in love

  • Quote

Post by Match » Mon Mar 22, 2004 7:25 pm

Before I got to know her I thought she was "difficult" - you know, one of those types for whom you can never do anything right. One wrong word and she wouldn't talk to you for hours, until you'd figured out what you'd done wrong - but by that time it was too late. You know the kind of girl.

I didn't find her attractive at all, in fact I was barely considering her as anything for me. Debbie was more attractive, but she was keen on Ian. Still, she was the object of my attention - that is, until someone told me the truth about Jenny.

You see, behind the "difficult" outside I found Jenny to not only be everything I could have wanted in a woman but much more. I'd wanted someone who could help me in day-to-day life, support some of the wild dreams I had of things I could do. Jenny, it seems, can do all that and even more. She's the dream of any man - a woman who can take care of your every need. Sure, you have to say things right, but any sophisticated young lady isn't worth a thing if she'll let anyone just "use" her.

Not only that, but I came to love her looks as well. I thought she was plain - just another girl with nothing special to offer. I've come to look past the initial view though and seen the beauty of this girl - not just from the inside, but shining out from her face. This girl, my friends, is one heck of a girl. I've fallen in love with her. And one day soon, she'll be mine.

(In case you don't get it, Jenny is Gentoo. Say hello to the latest convert :))

This is generally the part where you can sneak in dirty jokes, using "emerge" in this romantic metaphor, but in the interest of good taste I'll be quiet

Back in the days I was single, Jenny was not born yet. I thought that bitchy Windy is the only woman on the world. Then I met Jenny when she was 1.2 through a friend, but I already commited to a family. Now I only be able to see during lunch.

Erm... thankyou... I guess... :p

Thankyou everyone, looking forward to hanging around here a bit. Also looking forward to actually installing it... exams mean parents have postponed the new computer until after they're all finished. Meh.

"Debbie and Ian" is Debian, as that's where the name came from in the first place. All that was saying is that I was going to install Debian as I was told Gentoo was too complex: then after researching it myself I changed my mind :) (As for having installed either of them, I haven't yet - I've got Knoppix but have yet to do a hard disk install of any Linux distro. Gentoo will be my first :))
