Just unmerge kgpg. AFAIK it is included. (I have it and I didn't install it speciffically).

I also get some random crashes especially in programs form the PIM package like Kontact and KMail.
My useflags are really conservate so I don't think they are a problem.
Could it be because of the 3.3.1 QT Version?
Would it be better to emerge the 3.2 again?

Yeah, most of the stability problems with Qt 3.3.x are gone, but a few remain. That's why Qt 3.2.x is still the recommended version.
what up

Ok, I recompiled everything mentioned above.

Code: Select all

lesstif
openmotif
qt (3.3.1-r1)
and kdebase
kdelibs
kdeartwork
Maybe it was not all necessary but at least now the plugin option in Konqueror appeared again.

When you compile the packages did you recheck the useflags with the "v" flag?

I don't know if this really matter but I exited KDE before compiling it.
I know it shouldn't be a problem but better save then sorry.

Maybe we can ask Phemt if he was inside KDE or not when he was compiling it?

I emerged KDE 3.2.1 last night. I noticed that some of the buttons when using the Address Book in Kmail have disappeared.

Any suggestions to fix this problem?

Edit: I reported this to Bugzilla.

Check "nice" level of "artsd" process. You can also set the arts to use realtime priority in control center.

artsd is running with realtime scheduling

artsd is running with realtime scheduling, as reported by artscontrol. The sound buffer is as large as possible, right now I'm emerging arts 1.2.0 to see if its a problem with arts 1.2.1

@el_compa: Try to lower the buffer size just a little bit so it doesn't say "as large as possible" and try again.
