unmerged tar

my tar was pretty screwed up, so i did an emerge -C tar, forgetting that it d/ls .tars to install the packages, so on a emerge tar now, i get an error that it cant find tar to unzip the package...

whats the best way to get tar reinstalled now?

Try copying tar from a LiveCD and then emerge tar to get an up-to-date version.

Oh well, just go with above or somewhere else to get the tar-file from, and then do a

just to be safe, and get the latest version ofcourse
