Help with taming the copilot-key for plasma/xwayland?

Searching without AI for "nocopilot" I came across this promising looking gist.
Installing it as described had some effects, but not yet the desired ones:
Most notably no additional check-box appeared for the setting of the 'Position of Compose key' in SystemSettings->Keyboard->Key bindings.
Has anybody any guesses, what I might be missing?
One funny effect I have eg: <copilot>+<g> in a plasma-konsole is producing the output

Code: Select all

::1        localhost
$ sG
Where might that hosts line come from?

This odd output seems familiar. I believe I participated in a prior thread where someone had this problem, and traced it to being that they were unintentionally triggering the readline binding for complete-hostname (default: \e@) or possible-hostname-completions (default: \C-x@). Unfortunately, this was more than a year ago, and I cannot now find that post. Perhaps knowing that your input is generating those keys will help you find how to avoid it.

I think remember that topic, too.

Perhaps it's:

[topic=1171072]pressing Win+Z in Konsole dumps contents of /etc/hosts?[/topic]

(I first searched 'possible-hostname-completions' here, which didn't find anything, and then searched it on our test thingy and did find it. After that I also searched for 'complete-hostname' here, which /does/ find it.)
Kindest of regardses.

Yes, that is helping a little, in so far as stating that Konsole has since 2012 still hardcoded the interpretation of the Super key. That's disappointing of Konsole, and for testing of that gist a terminal without that "helpfulness" is needed. Any recommendations? (emerging xterm at the moment ;-) )
