  • Quote

Post by pgpoulsen » Tue Mar 24, 2026 6:14 am

When I run

Code: Select all

eselect repository <something>
I get this warning:

Code: Select all

warning: rosa-ebuilds: unsupported source type cvs
I have no idea where this rosa-ebuilds comes from.

Code: Select all

$ eselect repository list -i
Available repositories:
warning: rosa-ebuilds: unsupported source type cvs

If you were to run

Code: Select all

eselect repository list
(without the flag -i) you will see a long list of available repositories. One of those might be:

Code: Select all

 [305] rosa-ebuilds
You will notice that it does not have any web address.
There is a bug report also:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/967100
The warning is not coming from your system but from app-eselect/eselect-repository parsing the list of available repos. Apparently rosa-ebuilds is in a CVS format that is currently not supported, hence the warning:

Code: Select all

warning: rosa-ebuilds: unsupported source type cvs
You can safely ignore it.
