[SOLVED]wine 11.0 keystroke combination for accents broken ?

Hello,
I'm having this strange issue since wine 11.0 update, I'm unable to type special characters on my french azerty keyboard with all my wine applications.
Letters like ô, ê that you can type by first pressing : ^ then o / e.
In all wine applications, the new accented letter is not triggered by the combination so a word like : rêve becomes r^eve.

Otherwise, the keystroke combination works perfectly fine with linux. (gui, console) so it doesn't look like a locale issue.
I even tried with a brand new ~/.wine (mv ~/.wine ~/.wine.bak && wineboot ) and tried the default notepad application -> the issue remains.
Any idea what could be causing this issue ?

Thanks.

Some progress, I created a temporary new user and started a new xfce session with a brand new ~/.wine and keystroke combination works.
So there must be something wrong inside my user account, I'll update this thread when I find the culprit... :o

EDIT : Well, that was quick.
I compared the output of env for my main user and the temporary one.
And found this in my env.rc in my user account :

Code: Select all

GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus
XMODIFIERS=@im=ibus
QT_IM_MODULE=ibus
it turns out those were set up when I installed app-i18n/mozc (and ibus) a few months ago (uninstalled since) and... forgot to remove them from my env.rc.
After removal of those 3 lines, logout / login, keystroke combination works again in wine. I guess XMODIFIERS variable here is what causing the issue since ibus was not installed anymore on my system.
