iwconfig command is outdated and replaced by iw in net-wireless/iw package. Many kernels are removing support for iwconfig and friends.

Galvatron,

What does

Code: Select all

rfkill
tell?
Hard block means the transmitter is off with a physical switch somewhere.
Soft block means it's turned off in software.
Your bluetooth and wifi should be listed.

Look at the output of

Code: Select all

dmseg | less
Is the wifi cycling?
That's usually caused by several network management services tryin to manage the wifi at the same time.

It may pe useful to save dmesg to a file then put it onto a pastebin site.
It's a good source of debug information.

Galvatron,

There is no need to reinstall. That's a bad habit you may have acquired fro some binary distros.

You can get back into your chroot, like you had never left it.
From the handbook ...
Do not partition your HDD
Do not make any filesystems.
Do not install a stage3
... any of those steps will destroy your install.

Mount all your filesystems.
Perform the chroot steps

Your original install is just as you left it. It's running on the boot media kernel and services, just as it was during your install.
