Help with creation, editing, or playback of sounds, images, or video. Amarok, audacious, mplayer, grip, cdparanoia and anything else that makes a sound or plays a video.

Greetings,

I'm running a system without pa, it seems that I'm unable to get firefox to use alsa and I noticed the sndio flag, tried it but didn't got any sound whatsoever, has anyone been able to make them work together?

One thing you could try emerge media-sound/apulse with USE flag sdk, and then emerge firefox with pulseaudio flag. It should compile without pulling pa dependency.
It's a solution I read some ago, but I didn't test it since, instead of compiling FF, I'm using the firefox-bin which pulls apulse. (My system is ALSA only, no pa nor pipewire)

I can't use pa flag, it pulls media-libs/libpulse which is installed as a daemon less lib for signal

Have you also set `media.cubeb.backend` to `sndio`?
