udev-hid-bpf - howto?

Post by guerro » Mon Dec 01, 2025 10:41 am

Good morning,
I need to fix the kernel driver for the Thrustmaster TCA Yoke Boeing, and I saw that a patch made with the bpf system is already available.
I found some info on Google that suggests using udev-hid-bpf, a tool that unfortunately isn't available as a package...
Has anyone used it and could explain how?
The best thing would be to find a package to automate the installation.
(By the way, I saw in their git repository that the relevant patch is already available, so it could be compiled and installed from the package.)

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

I've been meaning to package it for a little while. I will have a stab at it now (bug 961038).

Thank you very much :)
I'll wait for your package (in zugaina, the package there is no more).
PS:
in your package could you insert the KERNEL CONFIG required, I red that some config must be enabled to get it works.

Thank you again

It looks like sam_ put at least some checks in the ebuild already. However, if you can link to the document that told you certain options were required, it would be easier to confirm whether the checks that he put in are sufficient to cover all requirements.
