* Qtile is written in Python, thus quite configurable. Not excellent as a floating WM. Qtile can run in both X and Wayland.
* There's also Wayfire, which has a python binding, "pywayfire".

Let me provide a portage overlay for x11-wm/sawfish and its dependencies.

Although the Sawfish window manager was removed from the Gentoo portage tree in Jan 2023, it's still maintained, even if minimally - just to keep it alive.

# BTW I once was a Sawfish developer until 2011.

Until I migrate to Wayland, I'll stick to Sawfish ;-)

Updated x11-wm/sawfish.

Sawfish now supports (very minimally) _NET_WM_STRUT_PARTIAL. This can improve some panel / dock type windows support.

After 2 years, there are changes such as LIBTOOL variable existence and gcc error check.
So I modified teika's overlay to use upstream's git repository directly and relax a gcc's compile-time check.
I wish I were not the last gentoo user who still stick with this window manager.

I'm yet another fossil user of Sawfish. ;)

I'll be busy for a week or two, so perhaps I'll comment after that.

Oops. abo_junghichi's repo lacks some files in the directory files/ . It is straightforward to remove these lines from the ebuilds, but you can get them from my repo.

They're for emacs, so unless you run sawfish/librep from emacs, you don't need them.

Here's the one for librep and the one for sawfish.
