I'm trying to run a few games in wine (from gog, using lutris). They mostly run very well, but in some games my generic xbox type controller does not work.
The controller works in, for example, Kingdom Come Deliverance and Terraria. And does not work in Kingdom Come deliverance 2 or Cyberpunk. I tried different versions of wine, same effect. In wine's control panel the controller is always detected and I can see that the buttons and joystick work correctly.
What could possibly be the reason?

Oh. Of course, right after I asked this I found something. If I unplug my keyboard, then the controller works in KCD 2 as well. Does wine think that my keyboard is a controller too, and gives it a priority?

I use/have been using PS5 controller with Steam on Gentoo.
It works in every game. I also have X box controller but it sucks.
It works on some and does not work on some other. Trying to fix it
had been fruitless so I decided to stick to PS5. Reason I have X box because
previous PS5 controller starting having drift issues so I thought of buying Xbox
because I read somewhere Xbox didn't drift as badly as PS5's controller.
Trust me when I say I have 4 PS5 controller because the rate of their drifting failure
is like once in every 1.5 years. I have no comment about this. They know drift issue is
real and bad but they also know that this is excellent business opportunity for them.
