[Solved +6.17.4] gentoo-sources-6.17.3 kernel panic

Hi there, up to version gentoo-sources-6.17.2 to install the kernel version 6.17.2 was fine, but in this new version 6.17.3 get kernel panic.

You are not alone ... I have the same problem with 6.17.3 ... maybe it is related to this report:

(but at the moment I have no time to do a bisect; I am waiting for some days)

Does your machine have (like mine) an Intel VMD (Volume Management Device; see in "lspci -nnk")?

So, today we have 6.17.4 ... and ... maybe I am blind ... but I didnt found the patch ... maybe ... maybe because kernel development thought it is "only" 6.18 ->

I went back to version 6.17.2.
Thank you again and to be honest, I manage the kernels by gentoo-sources instead of downloading them from kernel.org. It's not too urgent for me at the moment.
