OK basically randomly kwin eats 30 percent of my gpu for no reason that i can figure out, killing kwin solves the issue for 5 minutes and a reboot fixxes the issue for a few hours. the issue has gotten bad enough that before i do anything gpu intensive i check the gpu temp which i have pinned on the system panel to see if it's above 55c and if it is i just restart my computer. i also am using amdgpu_top to tell that kwin is causing the issue.

i have replcianted this is the stable and testing versions of the 6.3.5 kde plasma packages

'randomly' implies that if the system is idling you see the GPU spike to 30% for extended periods of time or is it something else?

During this period you may like to see if there is any increase in CPU utilization of any other process which may give you pointers on which process might be triggering it (via kwin) and IF something is triggering it in the 1st place.

Also if you record the logs just before the spike in GPU utilization, you may just cut the volume of the logs to the useful ones. Do this repeatedly until you find a common pattern.

ok i will do, i have a month of logs of this stuff so i will go threw it, also yes it randomly spikes up to 30 percent on idle then stays like that untill i kill kwin or reboot. also i don't see any spike in cpu useage durring these times just gpu useage.

Ok, so once it starts taking 30%, it always takes 30%. There is no 'spike' as such.

If you've screencast USE enabled in kwin just try to disable it temporarily to see if it helps.

yeah that didn't do anything still getting this weird behavior, any idea how i can can check in the logs for this happening

yeah can confrim that this shows up befor the issue of it eatin 30 percent of my gpu comes in

this error also shows up mtuiple time severy second around the time it happens as well

i have the video group but i didn't know the render group existed so i will ad my self to it

the issue is still accruing but i think it's happening less offten. and i am not getting that error in journalctl.
