The devs and volunteers probably don't hear this enough, but thanks for all the work. Been using Gentoo in one form or another since like 2006. Anyhow, was doing a new install on new laptop, and decided to give Gentoo-kernel a try. Now, I have also used root on ZFS ever since I found you could, as well as some other things, point being I have always been used to having to configure the kernel, etc. Although it felt a little like cheating - I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was now, even with root on ZFS, etc.

I would also like to thank our devs keeping Gentoo alive and well, despite what have been predicted for years and proven so wrong year after year.

The people in Gentoo Forum are above and beyond. They really do care about what they do, sans elitism. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and humble.
That said, I kinda wish the forum software itself is a little bit more modern, though. Specifically, I'd like to have "upvote/thumbs-up" feature.

I'm also very happy with how Gentoo, how it has developed over the years and think the developers have done a really good job <3
Milestones for me were the introduction of profiles, including the resulting pre-assigned USE flags, and the Gentoo kernel. These two things made installation and setup much easier.
I also have a lot of respect for the helpful people in the forum, as solamour already wrote. I don't frequent many forums because I don't like people, but here I really appreciate that almost everyone treats each other respectfully and objectively.
