gtk4 - undefined reference to `cairo_xlib_surface_create'

This forum covers all Gentoo-related software not officially supported by Gentoo. Ebuilds/software posted here might harm the health and stability of your system(s), and are not supported by Gentoo developers. Bugs/errors caused by ebuilds from overlays.gentoo.org are covered by this forum, too.

Hi guys, as some knows here, I am working on my distro. Recently, I am facing an issue to build gtk4. It complain that the symbol cairo xlib is undefined. But the thing weird is cairo is already installed with the xlib support.
Maybe a bug ? If I can have some help I will appreciate.

So the details:
-I tried to build Gtk4-4.16.5
-The cairo version is 1.18.2

The cairo build log:

The Gtk4 build log:

Is cairo_xlib_surface_get_drawable in libcairo.so?

Anyway, I don't think we can really help here. It's not clear what the setup is, or whether the library installed to /usr/lib64/libcairo.so is the thing installed by your tool in the other log, or what the deal is with these tmp+mnt paths and whether they're a root, prefix, or some other situation (which will influence search paths).

Thanks a lot ! I find the reason now, I didn't know for this command nm. Apparently gstreamer installed another version of cairo that was conflicting ! I need to fix gstreamer. TY !
