Microsoft stopped Skype. There is Gentoo package Skype for Linux. But it seems there is no Gentoo package Teams for Linux. Microsoft offers to download Teams for Linux. But that is out of Gentoo package control. Is there a Gentoo way do Teams?

I could be wrong but I had to use it during Covid for work. I think we just joined using the link for the meeting in the web browser.

You can click on start a meeting for free or join a meeting. I know at one time there was an unofficial electron app but I don't know if anyone is still supporting and/or using it. There may be a flatpak for it.

There seems to be an unofficial version packaged in an overlay. Unofficial in a sense it's not made my Microsoft.

So yeah, does look like if you want the "official" experience your best way is to use it via a browser. I'd consider installing a browser just for using Teams, like ms-edge, and allow it to use microphone (and camera?) while restricting those from your main browser.

Can confirm. Using MS-Edge (yes, it exists since it switched to chrome-engine) for Teams does work

I've been using the net-im/teams-for-linux from guru last couple of weeks, it picked up all the Skype conversations and worked fine. The others were on Windows & Mac - initially browser, then they switched to native apps.
