I am using telegram desktop on 2 amd64 machines:
- On a Desktop with pure ALSA
- On a Notebook with pulseaudio
That means:
I can open and play videos
I can open and play audio messages
I can even create and send audio messages
===> but once I call someone, I do not hear anything and the peer does not hear me. When I enable video, it is the same behavior: I do not see the peer´s video and he/she does not see me. But nevertheless, the call starts and and runs until one of the participants hangs up and I even hear the signal tone "plingg" when the connection is established.
What I did to find the reasion
1. I installed telegram-desktop-bin-4.4.1 on the desktop: The same issue happens like described above.
2. I demasking version 4.6.3 on the desktop but it behaves identical
3. Purging the config directory of telegram - no change
Update: I am now deleting all dependencies and build the whole stuff again and test - cuirrently running .. will report the result asap.
At the beginning my guess was something with ALSA/Pulseaudio but since the laptop with pulseaudio setup behaves identicially I assume missing pulseaudio cannot be the root cause.
What drives me crazy is, that I cannot find anything related to this when searching the net. I cannot imagine that when calls are completly inoperable that nobody has the same issue than me.
thanks and regards
Erdie
