VisionFive RISC-V and Gentoo

Post here for other supported architectures, or if you are interested in porting Gentoo to a currently unsupported architecture.

VisionFive RISC-V and Gentoo

I'm thinking about picking up a few VisionFive RISC-V SBC's. They have dual core RISC-V SoCs and 8GB of RAM to do ebuild testing on for the RISC-V architecture. Yes, I could emulate this in QEMU but some bugs only get shaken out on real hardware. Unfortunately, I've read reports that the SoC is buggy, so I'm a bit unsure whether I should go ahead and get these or wait for competing SBC's to hit the market.

Can anyone here share their experience with this hardware? I'm sure I'm not the only person here thinking about Gentoo on RISC-V.

Moved from Kernel & Hardware to Gentoo on Alternative Architectures.

You aren't the only one interested in Gentoo on RISC-V, see this topic: viewtopic-t-998288.html

I don't have experience with the hardware you link to, i do have the HiFive Unmatched (https://www.sifive.com/boards/hifive-unmatched) and it has a four U74 cores and a single S7 core and it's okay. Of course there are errata but i don't think there is a single CPU without :)
