Emerge sci-libs/keras-2.7.0 failing due to ebazel [solved]

Emerge sci-libs/keras-2.7.0 failing due to ebazel [solved]

Emerge for sci-libs/keras-2.7.0 has been failing due to ebazel.

I tried with lowering the dev-libs/protobuf to 3.16.0
>=dev-python/protobuf-python to 3.16.0, however the crashing still happens.

I also dried a depcelan but still does not compile.

I also lowered the MAKEOPTS="-j1", still no success.

May have been able to replicate this problem, and may have a workaround. Originally tried to emerge with latest stable packages plus required masked packages (~amd64). Got a slot conflict:

Tried to add net-libs/grpc to /etc/portage/package.accept_keywords to get the testing version of grpc (1.43). Emerge was able to generate the dependency tree, but one of the link commands failed for sci-libs/tensorflow:

Noticed that grpc-1.41 ebuild specified a specific version of abseil-cpp, while tensorflow did not. Tried masking abseil-cpp, and commented out grcp in package.acccept_keywords (i.e. went back to grpc-1.41). This built successfully. Did get a message. I use a 16GB tmpfs for /var/tmp/portage, and tensorflow uses 16GB of space. But the build did run to the end.

Will include full pretend emerge output of successful configuration. Noticed OP was using ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~amd64", and may need speciific versions. I try to stay with stable.

Thanks, I have was using sys-devel/gcc-11.2.1_p20211127:11::gentoo and will return gcc-11.2.0.

Thank you, everyone, it turns out that the return to gcc-11.2.0 solved the issue.

I have been using and no issues so far and work very well with my GPU.

I had identical issue/errors with the same gcc version. Switched back to gcc-12.2.0, and now I'm getting these errors when trying to emerge (after 1h of compiling on 8cores):

Try to see in dmeg if there is a out of memory message or post full build.log and your emerge --info.

I'm not sure if the first line is related, I think it was from the first time I tried to install tensorflow? I tried few more times and I got the same ACPI Errors, but without the ACPI warning beforehand.

I was able to get past this particular link error by using dev-cpp/abseil-cpp 20210324.2 and net-libs/grpc 1.41.1. I rebuilt today and had no errors. Keras loads in python.
