What is the difference between these 2 stage 3 builds?

Hey everyone!

I just have a simple question here about these 2 builds ive seen, one is current-stage3-amd64-hardened/ which was updated 06-Jul-2020 14:21 there is also another called, current-stage3-amd64-hardened-openrc/ which was updated on 12-Sep-2021 21:41

I mean are these both the same builds just updated at different dates, or is there something else that sets these 2 apart from one another?

Is one more stable than the other perhaps? Also im not talking about the initial download im talking about from within the LIVECD

If there's a way i could like read the differences myself, as im not trying to bother anyone, a link would be appreciated as well.

Thank you, but when following the handbook it takes you to the link https://www.gentoo.org/downloads/mirrors/ and on that site you go to releases/amd64/autobuilds/ and inside that directory are those 2 links to download the tarball to unpack, would i select the one that relates to the site IE:current-stage3-amd64-hardened-openrc?

Its just weird because im like 99% sure its the same file ones just updated more recent

You don't want anything from 2020. You would have endless problems trying to upgrade the first time.

The old ones need to be removed (manually, from the master mirror). Inexplicably, this is ... somehow ... complicated from our infrastructure side. I gave up pushing for the moment, since more similar reorganizations are on the way and I'd rather fix all in the end in one go.
