[SOLVED] Is it possible to swap the channels using Alsa?

Help with creation, editing, or playback of sounds, images, or video. Amarok, audacious, mplayer, grip, cdparanoia and anything else that makes a sound or plays a video.

I recently bought some PC speakers and the cable to them is so short that I'm forced to have the right speaker on the left side and vise versa due to the computer is on my left side.

This means that my audio is swapped.. I have searched for solutions, but i haven't found anything. Do you know of any solution for this?

I had the same problem with my sound going to my monitor using display port. I found something in the web and this is now my asound.conf:

Code: Select all

 /etc # more asound.conf
defaults.pcm.!card 0
defaults.pcm.!device 7

pcm.swapped {
    type         route
    slave.pcm    "cards.pcm.default"
    ttable.0.1   1
    ttable.1.0   1
}

pcm.default      pcm.swapped

Thanks! This is what I ended up with:

Code: Select all

pcm.!default {
    type route;
    slave.pcm dmix;
    ttable.0.1 1;
    ttable.1.0 1;
}
I then don't have to change the default device. :)
