You can try to change rsync server with a mirror, see this topic

Did you try it more than once? I've had connect problems before and tried minutes later and it worked.
UM780 xtx, 6.18 zen kernel, gcc 15, openrc, wayland
minixforum m1-s1 max -- same software as above but used for ai learning

Had trouble last night, too. I ran mirrorselect and found one mirror up in the USA (Georgia Tech). I set this in repos/gentoo.conf and it synced. Then I restored the rotation. Might have had something to do with the massive fires and electrical failures on the West Coast of the USA.
