Raspberry OpenMPI

Hello,

I am compiling openmpi for my Raspberry Pi Zero, however I faced the following problem.

checking prefix for global symbol labels... none
configure: error: Could not determine global symbol label prefix

Googling it, I found it is a Mac issue. Can you tell me how to fix it?

Actually im not familiar with Raspberry Pi and Open MPI,but maybe could help with something.Could you post more information (system,toolchain,exact package or code) because this one you provide could guess about details.

As i see clear,you are building Open MPI - https://www.open-mpi.org ,from source,on x86_64 Gentoo system (as you say for "my Raspberry Pi Zero" not on) with GNU ARM Embedded Toolchain - https://launchpad.net/gcc-arm-embedded for RPI Zero,right?

You know the more information would be provided,the more detailed information would be received,someone here have same issue as you,maybe this could help

You are _cross_compilling it, aren't you?
I can remember that prefix thing, though I was too busy with other stuff to take a deep dive and actually sort it out.

How did you set your cross-toolchain? Crossdev?
Are you building that package with cross-emerge? If yes: did you change cross profile from the default embeded to something more usable? (The default is very limited and gave me some headache causing compilation failures)
That's for starter, perhaps someone else will be able to provide more hints.

Actually, I was not cross-compiling. I compiled it on the Raspberry Pi Zero, but with distcc. When I removed the distcc, that problem disappeared, but another came in:

atomic-asm.S:23: Error: selected processor does not support ARM mode `dmb'
atomic-asm.S:55: Error: selected processor does not support ARM mode `dmb'
atomic-asm.S:70: Error: selected processor does not support ARM mode `dmb'
atomic-asm.S:86: Error: selected processor does not support ARM mode 

So I gave up compiling OpenMPI and used an alternative of his in the face of MPICH2. Can you tell me what causes the 2nd error?
