ebuild for gentium typeface

've recently gotten into using scribus, and saw in some of their online doc a mention about a beautiful font,
"Gentium a typeface for the nations":

(currently it appears that their licensing is as copyrighted freeware which I gather is somewhat more restrictive than bitstream-vera's, but still....)

anyway, I put up an ebuild here, fonts-ttf-gentium-1.0.1.ebuild

Please create a bug report for this new ebuild on bugs.gentoo.org. Please do a search on bugzilla first to verify there is not already an ebuild in the making.

Ah, gentium is such a great font. Glad the ebuilds out. My dad works at SIL, the organization that does gentium.

For those of you who don't know what it is, check out my avatar. That's three letters in the font face. It looks really good...

what's really cool is that gentium (and also vera for the most part) supports not only regular greek chars but even unusual diacriticals. and eventually full cyrillic support from what I gather.

yah, glad that it made it into an official ebuild, sil is pretty neat.

EDIT: Oh goodness, I"m way behind the times.

It's already in portage under media-fonts/ttf-gentium and works fine.

The Gentium font has recently been re-released in SIL Open Font License, which is open source friendly and can now be bundled with many GNU/Linux distributions including Gentoo and Debian:
