Sorry if this is answered elsewhere, if it is I couldnt see it.
I've been thinking about a way of quickly getting Gentoo installed again, should the worst ever happen (ie. I bork my system).
I'm currently thinking the best idea is to make binaries of everything I use, using emerge -B, then burning my /usr/portage/packages to a CD. Then, in future once I've installed the gentoo base, I just copy my binaries across to the new install, along with a world file containing them (and whatever deps of course) and do "emerge -k world".
So, will this work?
Thanks.
