[SOLVED] profile desktop/kde install cinnamon components?!

Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

[SOLVED] profile desktop/kde install cinnamon components?!

Hi, I have a new installed system. I set desktop profile, and do an -auvDN world. It's all ok. I install nothing, only stage3 and upgrade after set desktop profile.

Now i change profile to desktop/kde... and do a -auvDN world. It give me this output:

Code: Select all

# emerge -auvDN world
FEATURES variable contains unknown value(s): build

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

[nomerge       ] gnome-extra/cinnamon-control-center-2.4.2-r2::gentoo  USE="colord cups -debug" INPUT_DEVICES="-wacom"
[nomerge       ]  gnome-extra/nm-applet-1.0.2::gentoo  USE="bluetooth introspection -modemmanager"
[nomerge       ]   virtual/notification-daemon-0::gentoo  USE="-gnome"
[ebuild  N     ]    gnome-extra/cinnamon-2.4.6::gentoo  USE="l10n networkmanager" PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7" 2748 KiB
[ebuild  N     ]     gnome-extra/cinnamon-control-center-2.4.2-r2::gentoo  USE="colord cups -debug" INPUT_DEVICES="-wacom" 4205 KiB
[ebuild  N     ]      gnome-extra/nm-applet-1.0.2::gentoo  USE="bluetooth introspection -modemmanager" 1280 KiB
[ebuild  N     ]       virtual/notification-daemon-0::gentoo  USE="-gnome" 0 KiB

Total: 4 packages (4 new), Size of downloads: 8231 KiB

 * Error: circular dependencies:

(virtual/notification-daemon-0:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) depends on
 (gnome-extra/cinnamon-2.4.6:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) (runtime)
  (gnome-extra/nm-applet-1.0.2:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) (runtime)
   (virtual/notification-daemon-0:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) (buildtime)

It might be possible to break this cycle
by applying any of the following changes:
- virtual/notification-daemon-0 (Change USE: +gnome)
- gnome-extra/cinnamon-2.4.6 (Change USE: -networkmanager)

Note that this change can be reverted, once the package has been installed.

Note that the dependency graph contains a lot of cycles.
Several changes might be required to resolve all cycles.
Temporarily changing some use flag for all packages might be the better option.
My question is: Why portage try to install gnome-extra/cinnamon for kde ?!

I have a notebook with kde desktop profile, and i don't have this "problem", no cinnamon packages installed!

Because cinnamon is the first package listed in virtual/notification-daemon.
If you use kde profile you should pick one of the listed kde providers: kde-apps/knotify (kde4) or kde-frameworks/knotifications (kde5)
