Where is the Intel HD Audio driver? [solved]

I installed gentoo-sources 3.16.3. I'm trying to find the intel hd audio driver (snd_hda_intel) in menuconfig. It's not under PCI drivers, and it's not under HD drivers. Where is it?

When you're in menuconfig, type "/" and you will get the search command line.
There type (case insensitive) "snd_hda_intel" and press ENTER.
It will show you the detailed path and a shutcut in brackets (1)
Press number key shown there ...

you may also use

grep INTEL .config

and check if something fits. maybe they just moved it somewhere or renamed it. first point is the alsa project and the kernel docs to see the changelogs regarding it
