spotify want libnss3.so.12 and friends. (They are gone)

Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

spotify want libnss3.so.12 and friends. (They are gone)

In order to get spotify to work today, I had to add some symlinks in /usr/lib64;

Code: Select all

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 Sep 27 15:30 /usr/lib64/libnss3.so.12 -> /usr/lib64/libnss3.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 25 Sep 27 15:30 /usr/lib64/libnssutil3.so.12 -> /usr/lib64/libnssutil3.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 Sep 27 15:31 /usr/lib64/libsmime3.so.12 -> /usr/lib64/libsmime3.so
Now, I know this is not a good way of resolving, but I had to have music....

I have tried
revdep-rebuild -i --library libnss3.so.12
and reemerging spotify

but still, no change.

The .so.12 files apparently has disappeared in some recent emerge, but rebuilding spotify should deal with that, no?

You beat me to it - I have the exact same problem.

Tried reemerging nss, spotify, revdep-rebuild.

Me too...

Code: Select all

/opt/spotify/spotify-client/spotify: error while loading shared libraries: libnss3.so.12: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Changed to gcc 4.7.3 recently no clue if that is relevant (ie maybe something needs a recompile)...

Latest dev-libs/nss-3.15.2 package breaks the Spotify. It works when using older 3.15.1-r1 version of the package. I have no clue why it breaks even though it should be a minor package version update.

The newer version of nss may have changed the soname. You need to build a newer spotify. Since it is in /opt, that indicates you are using a prebuilt spotify, so reinstalling the existing version will have no effect. Upgrade to a newer version or switch to a built-from-source version.

I had the same problem, masking dev-libs/nss-3.15.2 and dropping back to 3.15.1-r1 fixed it.

Thanks :)
