problems with NFS ug2 resolution

I can only run the game once per reboot, if I try to run before rebooting I get the following error:
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x33f870,0x00000000), stub!
err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found 640x480x32 @0! (XRandR)
err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found 640x480x32 @0! (XRandR)
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x5d2780 (thread 005b), starting debugger...

I tried emulating a virtual desktop with that resolution but it doesn't work
direct rendering is enabled

I also cannot change the resolution or the graphics quality If I get the game to run

thanks

Tried forcing the resolution with xrandr? I.e xrandr -s 640x480. If the resolution doesn't exist then you can try adding it as a modeline. You can use gtf to create it, then place in your xorg.conf under the monitor section (IIRC)

well after a reboot and some tests, xrandr does not prevent the game form running again
so I just created a script where xrandr changes the resolution back after the game is closed :D

everything is partially fine now :D
thanks darklegion
