This looks suspiciously like a link error that could be fixed by revdep-rebuild. I've been avoiding the most recent icu update because they tend to break everything. This thread mentions a similar problem, though they focus on the gnutls failure more than the icu failure.

The version of icu I have is icu-50.1-r1000:0/50

I'm using Funtoo, if that makes a difference. Don't know if the version I have comes from Gentoo or Funtoo's repository.

I just would like to use a graphical tool to see dependencies. I won't let kuroo run as root though ...

Using porthole as an ordinary user works. But that old tool pulls old libs I would like to get rid of ...
