Good day,
I switched recently to open source driver due to ATI no longer supporting my HD4870.
I'm please with the open source except for that the fan is running too fast and thus is too noisy.
fglrx was making it running far slower, almost noiseless.
I'm talking only of the GPU running on the KDE desktop, so running almost idle.
I on "profile" powersave, with the "auto" profile.
Switching on "low" make it run too fast.
Switching on "dynpw" instead of "profile" makes the mouse hitch on the screen and finally it's more annoying than the noise.
Is there any way to fine tune the fan speed on various profiles?
Or a way to avoid mouse hitches on dynpw?
Should I set GPU reclock on options ? If yes, how can I achieve this ?
Thanks in advance for your help
