omnibook alternative for turning on bluetooth?

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-18M laptop and for bluetooth to work, I need to use the omnibook module. However, it has not been updated for ages and it does not support kernel 3 (unable to build). Thus I am stuck with kernel 2.6.39. I have also tried pulling it from git manually (it seems to have been updated a few months ago) but it did not help, still the same problem with build.

Is there any way in kernels >3 to enable bluetooth for this laptop? With omnibook I just have to use the parameter ectype=14. Until the module gets loaded with this parameter, the bluetooth adapter is not even listed in lsusb.

Omnibook is now masked and will be removed in a few days as it does not build with recent kernels.
