Out of Installing Gentoo as outside the scope of initial install, over to Desktop Environments as package in question looks KDE-related. data_the_android on the catch.

SQLBoy, please give compiler version info, as there are many possibilities floating around right now.

I have the same problem.

I have not looked more closely at it yet because I just found out this
morning that the build (which I mostly run at night) had failed.

So SQLBoy if you (or someone else) finds a fix I would liked
to be informed.

Thanx in advance.
PS
Anyone out there able to build kdevelop-2.1.2 ??
Dries.
You can have it fast, cheap or correct: pick 2

I've got the same problem. Another thread said you can hack around it by relocating a certain ctags file. This is either an ebuild issue, or the source has a problem. I pinned my kdevelop version back to 0.0.1 of a version before this one & have no problems. You can pin it by changing the entry in your /var/cache/edb/world file and specifying an actual version number.

Cheers
Brad

I get the same error trying to emerge quanta, kopete, and kbear. It seems that anything k fails. I emerged kdelibs again per the suggestions in other posts but it didn't help.

I'm not sure what's wrong but hopefully someone does.

I'm running a 1 week old 1.2 stage1 install. Everything else is find is only apps of type k*

quanta, kopete, and kbear
and kinkatta, and kdestudio. Though quanta compiled fine (but won't install) so I manually moved the files. Found a solution somewhere in the board (ebuild file tweaks) but didn't work for me :(

Well I just successfully emerged kopete so maybe all this is fixed. I'm going to try kdevelop now.
