I have had several system failures over the past few weeks resulting in substantial data loss and lost productivity. These problems started shortly after an update to KDE4.6/Baselayout-2 took place (both happened at the same time so I'm not sure which is at fault).
Above my arrow keys on my keyboard I have three little keys. One is a circle with a line through it, one is a crescent moon, and the other looks like a sunrise. Before they never did anything, but now they shutdown/crash my computer! Why? It is almost as if the computer tries (but fails) to shutdown properly after I accidentally hit one (I get logged out of KDE, X shutsdown, then the computer becomes unresponsive).
However, we all know that in Linux only the root user can shutdown/sleep the computer and I'm not logged in as root.
How can I fix this very serious bug so that these keys no longer crash my computer?
Thank you for your time,
Arrummzen.
