How to exclude a package when updating world?[SOLVED]

Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

Is there an easy way to exclude a specific package from "emerge -auDNv world" without removing it from the world file? I thought about maybe using eix in some way but i cant figure it out.

while1,

Mask the package using your /etc/portage/package.mask file.
You may mask a specific version or all versions of a package.

Code: Select all

man portage
will provide all the gory detail

With portage-2.1.9 you can use the --exclude option for this.
