3Dconnexion space navigator frustrations

Hi All

I got a 3Dconnecion space navigator. I tried the spacenav driver from sourceforge but when starting that daemon it just runs away and I have to kill it.
I tried the linux driver on the CD but that needs libXm.so.3 which it looks for in the wrong place, when symlinking it to the one in /usr/lib32 it complains about wrong ELF.
Anyone out there been successsful in setting this up, or know of some reliable instructions?

Success, after downloading and installing the 64bit drivers from http://www.3dconnexion.com/service/drivers.html
and sym linking:

 ln -s /usr/lib/libXm.so.4.0.3 /usr/lib/libXm.so.3

she is working!

The spacenav driver can work as well, run the daemon as root not user then it doesn't run away.
